Upsarg aur Pratyay Hindi Vyakran ke mahatvapurn ang hain, jo shabd nirmaan mein mahatvapurna bhumika nibhate hain. Upsarg ko shabd ke pehle lagaaya jaata hai aur ye shabd ke arth mein parivartan laata hai. Jaise, "सु" upsarg shubh ya achchhe arth dene ke liye prayog hota hai, jaise "सु + लिखित = सुलिखित"। Pratyay, dusri taraf, shabd ke ant mein lagaaya jaata hai aur ye shabd ke arth aur prakriti ko badal deta hai. Jaise, "ता" pratyay shabd ko bhaav vachak banaata hai, jaise "मधुर + ता = मधुरता"। Upsarg aur Pratyay dono hi shabd nirmaan mein sahayak hote hain aur bhasha ko vividh aur saarthak banate hain.
