📖 Read the LKG Hindi question paper practice guide
This 30 marks Hindi question paper for LKG gives parents and teachers a starting point for early Hindi revision. LKG is also called Junior KG or JR KG. The online practice added to this page offers a separate twenty-question quiz and ten interactive tasks. Use the existing download option for the printable paper, and check its actual questions before choosing which parts to practise with a child.
Start with letters the child has already met in class. Show अ and आ separately, say each clearly and connect them with familiar examples: अ से अनार and आ से आम. Introduce a small set of letters rather than expect the entire Hindi varnamala in one sitting. Recognising a written letter, naming a picture and writing the shape are different skills, so give children time with each.
Picture matching works best when the picture name is clear. Say आम, कमल, गमला or पतंग before inviting the child to choose its first letter. A child may know an object by a different name, especially in a multilingual home. Confirm the intended Hindi word first. The online activities include written names beside the pictures, allowing an adult to read them while the child points or taps.
The LKG Hindi quiz includes five easy, seven average and eight thinking questions. Thinking tasks remain short and familiar: spotting an incorrect letter-picture pair, finding a missing vowel, comparing two pairs or recognising a repeated letter. They do not require independent reading of long instructions. A grown-up can read the full question and every option without telling the child which answer to choose.
Several games revisit swar and vyanjan through matching and sorting. The sorting game uses a selected set of familiar letters; it is not a full varnamala chart. The vowel train practises only अ, आ, इ, ई, उ and ऊ. Completing this train does not mean that these are all the Hindi vowels. Keep the sequence connected to the classroom model and gradually introduce additional letters when appropriate.
Hindi counting practice connects spoken number names with Devanagari numerals and small quantities. Children can count pictures one at a time, select a requested number and check their collection. For more focused practice, explore the LKG Hindi counting worksheet. Being able to recite number names and selecting the matching quantity may develop at different speeds.
The tracing activity offers several relevant Hindi letters and one red pen. A guide appears immediately, with Undo and Clear controls for easy corrections. Children can switch letters, hide the guide or mark a practice attempt as complete. This is a drawing board, not automatic handwriting assessment. A parent or teacher can model the strokes and check the attempt using the formation taught at school. Listening and pointing activities are equally useful for children who are not ready to trace.
Keep paper practice and online practice complementary. Use the quiz review to notice which letter pairs or number symbols need revisiting, rather than treating the score as a complete measure of Hindi ability. Related resources such as Hindi varnamala tracing for LKG and LKG Hindi flashcards provide further practice choices. Follow the child’s current classroom learning and keep sessions manageable.
