A count and trace Hindi 1 to 10 numbers worksheet for SR KG connects quantities, spoken number names and written Devanagari numerals. SR KG is also known as Senior KG or UKG. Begin with real objects, then connect the group with its number symbol. The printable worksheet and online activities offer additional ways to practise these relationships.
The Hindi numerals are १, २, ३, ४, ५, ६, ७, ८, ९ and १०. Their names are एक, दो, तीन, चार, पाँच, छह, सात, आठ, नौ and दस. A child may recognise a familiar Western numeral, such as 8, before learning its Devanagari form ८. Explain that these symbols represent the same quantity rather than different amounts.
Count with one-to-one correspondence. Touch or move one object for each number word, and avoid counting an object twice. After reaching the last object, say how many there are altogether. This connects the counting sequence with the quantity of the complete set. The tap-once garden activity supports this idea by marking objects after they have been counted.
Use different arrangements of the same collection. Spread counters apart, bring them closer together or move them between two trays without adding or removing any. Count again and discuss what changed and what stayed the same. The total does not depend on how widely the objects are spaced or the order in which they are counted.
Tracing is a separate skill from understanding quantity. Show a numeral, name it and connect it with a small group before writing. The online tracing board offers all ten numerals with red and black pens. Its dotted outlines show the completed shapes; an adult should demonstrate the handwriting method used in class and review the child’s attempt.
Introduce १० clearly as the written numeral for ten. It uses the digits १ and ० together in this order. Children can connect it with a full ten-frame without needing a formal place-value lesson immediately. Point out that १ and १० represent different quantities, even though both include the digit १.
The online quiz and ten activities use varied tasks, including numeral exploration, tracing, counted-object marking, quantity building, memory, ordering, matching, label repair, ten-frames and sharing counters. The games require actions beyond selecting a quiz option. Adult reading support allows children to participate while they are still learning Hindi number words.
Use these Hindi ginti 1 to 10 worksheets for UKG with short, playful sessions and everyday objects such as blocks, spoons or crayons. Ask the child to make a requested group, choose its numeral and explain how they counted. Download the printable resource through the existing page option. Online scores provide practice feedback and should be considered alongside observation, conversation and paper work.
💬 Hindi Numbers 1 to 10 Worksheet FAQs
😊 What are Hindi numbers 1 to 10?
The numerals are १, २, ३, ४, ५, ६, ७, ८, ९ and १०. Their names are एक, दो, तीन, चार, पाँच, छह, सात, आठ, नौ and दस.
😊 How do I teach Hindi counting to a UKG child?
Count familiar objects aloud, touching each once. Match the complete group with a numeral and revisit the number name before tracing.
😊 What is one-to-one correspondence in counting?
It means pairing one counting word with each object. Marking or moving counted objects can help children avoid skipping or counting them twice.
😊 Why can a child recite numbers but struggle to count objects?
Remembering the sequence and counting a collection are different skills. Practise touching one object per number word and saying the final total.
😊 How do I explain 8 and ८?
They are different written numeral forms representing the same quantity, eight. Use the same group of objects beside both symbols.
😊 How is ten written in Hindi numerals?
Ten is written १०, with १ followed by ०. Connect the whole numeral with a group of ten objects.
😊 Does spreading objects apart make the number bigger?
No. If no objects are added or removed, the total stays the same. Rearrange and recount a small collection together.
😊 Can children trace Hindi numerals online?
Yes. Select any numeral from १ to १० and use a finger, stylus or mouse. Red and black pens, Undo and Clear are available.
😊 Does the tracing activity check numeral formation automatically?
No. An adult checks handwriting. The dotted outlines show the complete numeral shapes, not numbered stroke-order instructions.
😊 Where can I download the SR KG Hindi counting worksheet?
