A this and that worksheet for UKG helps children describe objects near or far from the person speaking. UKG is also called Senior KG or SR KG. Begin with this and that for one object, then introduce these and those for more than one when children are ready.

Make the speaker clear before asking for a word. Hold a pencil and say this is a pencil. Point to a different pencil across the room and say that is a pencil. Let the child take a turn as the speaker. Near and far are understood from the speaker's position, rather than from the edge of a worksheet or the person reading it.

Keep distance separate from size and colour. A small ball can be near, and a large ball can be far away. The pictures in the online activities label near and far relative to the illustrated speaker. Objects remain clearly visible so children can focus on the relationship instead of guessing from a tiny drawing.

Practise complete examples alongside the short words. This is a ball and that is a ball both describe one ball, so both use is. Only the word pointing to the object changes when its distance changes. Ask children to move an object and explain what changed while keeping the number of objects the same.

Changing the speaker offers a useful thinking activity. A toy can be close to one child and far from another. One child may say this is a toy while another says that is a toy about the same object. Both descriptions can fit their viewpoints. For early practice, use clearly separated positions and identify who is speaking each time.

Introduce this that these those worksheets gradually. These describes more than one nearby object, while those describes more than one farther away. Compare this is a cup with these are cups. The pointing word, verb and noun form work together: this is for one, these are for more than one.

Use two checks when all four words are mixed: how many objects are there, and are they near or far from the speaker? One near object uses this; one far object uses that. More than one near object uses these; more than one far object uses those. A small chart or movable cards can keep these relationships visible.

The twenty-question online quiz and ten interactive this-and-that activities complement the printable worksheet for SR KG. Children move objects, deliver picture mail, build sentences and repair labels. An adult can read instructions and model spoken examples. Start with singular near-and-far tasks and use the plural extensions when the child can explain the earlier distinction confidently.
