Counting in 10s worksheets for UKG introduce a way to count equal groups efficiently. UKG is also called Senior KG or SR KG. Children practise the sequence 10, 20, 30, 40, 50, 60, 70, 80, 90 and 100 while connecting each spoken number with a quantity. Begin with a few complete groups before extending to one hundred.
Make the meaning of one ten visible. Arrange ten counters in a frame, check the quantity by counting each counter and then treat that complete frame as one group of ten. Two full frames contain twenty counters, three contain thirty and so on. This helps distinguish the number of groups from the total number of objects.
Skip counting by 10 to 100 means increasing the total by ten at each step. Move a marker along a labelled track or add one full ten-frame at a time. When the count starts at zero or ten and continues in tens, every number ends in zero. Explain this as a pattern in this sequence, rather than a rule for every possible starting number.
Missing number activities ask children to use the step size. In 40, 50, blank, 70, the missing number is 60. Check the gap by adding ten to 50 and by noticing that 60 is ten less than 70. A sequence such as 20, 30, 35, 40 contains a number that does not fit the ten-step pattern.
Counting in tens worksheets for SR KG can also introduce ten more and ten less. Adding one complete group to sixty gives seventy; removing one group from ninety leaves eighty. For backward practice, start with a short stretch such as 60, 50, 40, 30. Keep the full groups available so children can see what changes.
At the end of the sequence, ten tens make one hundred. The written numeral is 100, with three digits. Use ten complete groups to show this quantity. Number recognition, saying the sequence and writing the numerals are related skills, so offer matching and supported tracing alongside oral counting.
These online counting by tens games include touch-counting groups, memory pairs, a ten-step train, quantity building and number-card sorting. The twenty-question quiz provides explanations after submission, and the tracing activity includes every multiple of ten from 10 to 100. An adult can read prompts and review handwriting. Use the printable worksheet and familiar classroom objects to reinforce the same ideas away from the screen.
