This uses of water worksheet for nursery introduces familiar everyday tasks: drinking, bathing, washing hands, washing clothes, cooking and watering plants. Begin with two or three pictures. Ask your child to point, name the activity and say where they have seen it.

Preschool children learn through short conversations and repeated play. Say, “We use water to wash,” then let the child find the washing picture. Move on to another use when they are ready. Adults can read every question and instruction aloud.

The uses of water quiz has 20 questions at nursery level. Five easy questions introduce everyday uses, seven average questions connect water with people, animals and objects, and eight thinking questions use short stories. The harder questions ask children to make a simple choice, such as turning off a tap after use.

The uses of water online games practise matching, sorting, memory and sequencing. Five more online activities offer word tracing, drawing, counting and picture-based play. Only one activity opens at a time, and the buttons stack on phones so longer words stay easy to read.

Introduce saving water through one small habit: turn off a tap when water is no longer needed. Children can tell an adult about a dripping tap. The online tap activity uses pictures, so children can practise these choices without running real water.

For printable revision, invite your child to identify and colour pictures on the worksheet. Then choose one online game. Keep each session brief and encouraging. Tracing supports early pencil control; children can use the red pen, Undo and Clear to try again.

Connect water with plants, animals and cleanliness. A plant needs water to grow, an animal needs drinking water, and we use water with soap to wash. During real tasks, an adult should supervise and handle hot water. Drinking water should come from the safe supply provided by an adult.
