A 40 marks EVS question paper for nursery class gives teachers and parents a printable resource for reviewing early environmental studies. At this age, revision works best through familiar pictures, spoken questions and short activities. Begin with a topic the child knows well, such as body parts, school objects or everyday foods. Invite the child to point, name or describe a picture before starting written work.
Nursery EVS brings together ideas from a child’s surroundings. Useful revision areas include family, the body, school, cleanliness, plants, animals, food, water and weather. The online practice on this page samples these topics. It is a separate learning activity rather than a digital copy of every question in the downloadable paper. Check the printable paper itself for its exact sections, instructions and mark allocation.
For body-part practice, ask children which parts help them see, hear or smell. Use gentle pointing games and everyday examples. For family learning, talk about people who care for the child without assuming that every family has the same members. A child can describe a parent, grandparent, guardian or another trusted caregiver in their own words.
School and food pictures offer simple matching and sorting opportunities. Children can identify a pencil, a book or a school bag, then sort animal pictures from food pictures. Read short labels aloud when needed. These activities allow children to show what they understand without making reading ability the main requirement of an EVS task.
Plants, animals and water can be revised through observation. Ask children to notice a leaf, recognise a familiar animal or name a use of water. Talk about gentle plant care and keeping surroundings clean. For weather, use the conditions the child sees locally. A raincoat is useful when it rains, and warm clothing is useful when it is cold, regardless of the month.
The nursery EVS revision quiz contains 20 questions: five easy, seven average and eight thinking questions. Each correct answer earns one mark, giving an online score out of 20. This does not change the 40-mark printable question paper. Thinking questions use small groups, everyday situations and simple choices suitable for adult-guided nursery practice.
The timer appears above the online question, while the Submit button sits below the question controls. After submission, children can review the correct answers and explanations with an adult. Use the results to choose a topic for further practice, rather than treating the online score as a complete measure of a child’s learning. Spoken answers, observation and participation also provide useful information.
Ten online games and activities give children another way to revise. They can arrange a pretend morning routine, trace short words with a red pen, draw a plant and count pencil pictures. Complete one activity at a time and take breaks when needed. Finish with the printable nursery EVS question paper, then use the related topic worksheets below for focused practice or an extension into Class 1 and Class 2.
