🎮 Interactive Measurement Games for SR KG
Explore length, weight and capacity. Choose one game at a time.
1. 📏 Lay the Measuring Tiles
Cover the purple strip with equal tiles from the dotted starting line. Add tiles without gaps or overlaps.
Measuring tiles placed: 0
2. ⚖️ Balance Investigation
Choose pretend loads. Their weights are stated in identical counter units. Observe which pan settles lower.
Right load is heavier; its pan is lower.
3. 🥤 Fill the Pretend Tank
This tank’s capacity is five identical full cups. Pour or remove one cupful at a time. Stop when full.
Empty: zero cupfuls.
4. 📮 Sort the Measuring Jobs
Select a job and sort it by the property being measured.

5. 🃏 Measurement Method Memory
Match each property with a suitable way to compare it. Reveal two cards at a time.
Find three pairs.

6. 🔧 Repair the Measurement Reports
Use the observations to complete all three reports with the right unit.
Ready to play!
7. 🛠️ Fix the Mixed Measuring Units
The purple strip is six short units long. Replace every long tile with a short tile so the row uses one consistent unit. Tap tile buttons to switch sizes.
Ready to play!
8. 🚂 Order the Measured Strips
The strips measure U = 3, V = 6 and W = 4 identical blocks. Arrange them from shortest to longest.
U: ■ ■ ■ | V: ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ ■ | W: ■ ■ ■ ■
Order: —

9. 🔄 Change the Measuring Unit
This strip never changes length. Switch between a small block and a block twice as long. Observe the measuring count.
Same strip: 8 small blocks.
Larger units need fewer counts. The object’s length stays the same.
10. ✏️ Trace Measurement Reports
Choose a report and trace it with red or black. An adult can review the writing and discuss the unit.
Trace 5 blocks. Writing is not automatically graded.

🌈 Explore what is being measured
Measurement worksheets for SR KG introduce length, height, weight and capacity through practical comparisons. Begin by naming the property: how long, how tall, how heavy or how much a container can hold. This page adds a measurement online quiz and ten interactive games to the printable resource. The digital models use pretend units and do not represent actual centimetres, grams or millilitres on a screen.
📏 Measure length with equal units
Place identical blocks end to end along an object. Start at one end, leave no gaps, avoid overlaps and count the units covering the length. Use the same unit when comparing two measurements. A longer unit gives a smaller count for the same object, so six small blocks and three larger blocks can describe the same length. Revisit counting 1 to 10 worksheets to support careful unit counting.
🌳 Compare height fairly
For taller and shorter, stand objects upright on the same surface and compare their tops. An object placed on a raised platform may look taller without changing its own height. Keep the baseline clear and discuss one property at a time. Continue with size comparison worksheets and SR KG size and weight activities.
⚖️ Compare weight using evidence
On a correctly set-up equal-arm balance that moves freely, the heavier load settles lower and equal loads balance level. A large object is not automatically heavier than a small one. Predict and then compare safe objects with adult support. The balance game uses stated pretend counter weights so children can explore comparisons without guessing from picture size.
🥤 Investigate capacity with one cup size
Capacity means how much a container can hold when full. Compare containers by filling them with the same small cup, keeping each cupful equal and avoiding spills. A container holding five of those full cups has greater capacity than one holding three. Distinguish capacity from the amount currently inside: an almost-empty large jug may contain less water than a full small cup.

💬 SR KG Measurement Worksheet FAQs
What measurement concepts can SR KG children explore?
Start with direct comparisons of length, height, weight and capacity. Introduce equal informal units through short practical activities when the child is ready.
What are non-standard units of measurement?
They are informal units such as identical blocks, same-size paper clips or equal cupfuls. State the unit used whenever recording a measurement.
Why should measuring units be the same size?
A consistent unit gives each count the same meaning. Mixing different lengths makes the count unsuitable for comparing measurements directly.
How should children place blocks to measure length?
Start at one end and place identical blocks end to end without gaps or overlaps. Stop at the other end and count the units.
How do I teach taller and shorter fairly?
Place both objects upright on the same baseline before comparing their tops. Raising an object on a book changes its position, not its own height.
Does the bigger object always weigh more?
No. Size and weight describe different properties. Compare the actual objects with a suitable balance rather than deciding from size alone.
Which side of a balance scale is heavier?
On a correctly set-up equal-arm balance that can move freely, the heavier load settles lower. Equal loads balance level.
What is the difference between capacity and the amount inside?
Capacity is how much a container can hold when full. The amount inside is what it currently contains, which may be less than its capacity.
How can children compare two containers using cups?
Use the same cup and equal full cupfuls to fill each container, without spills. Compare how many cupfuls each container holds when full.
